                   Starting this May, the #DiscoverHartford campaign will be relaunching. After receiving feedback from both the membership and the community, we have moved #DiscoverHartford week to the first full week of May! More details will come out about the week as we get closer but it will be extremely similar to this past December’s #DiscoverHartford. It will kick off on Monday, May 6th and go through Sunday, May 12th. The categories for each day are listed below in this email. Similar to last time, we hope that you will hold a special event, sale, or something to help draw attention to your business! Members of the community will be motivated to stop by your store for two reasons: 1) to check out your special and 2) to enter into the online social media contest which requires the participant to visit your store, take a picture, and post it using the #DiscoverHartford tag. Participants will then be entered into a contest to win cool prizes!

                   There is a second part to #DiscoverHartford which is the marketing campaign. Your Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce is working with Fisheye Productions and a video producer to create professional content for our membership. Each month will feature a special category (listed below) where a 1,200 word article and 3-4 minute video will feature an overview of the businesses in that category. Members of that category will then also be able to purchase one of three 400-600 word articles that will be featured on our website, Facebook page, Minnehaha Messenger, and wherever you want to put it! These are available on a first buy first receive basis for $100. Each article will be featured on those platforms and receive exposure from thousands of viewers; you will also receive full rights to the article! But remember, these will be reserved on a first pay basis meaning the first member in that category to pay will be reserved for that spot.

                   We will feature two upcoming seminars to explain how you can better use social media to leverage the #DiscoverHartford week. Our seminar will also answer any questions you might have about #DiscoverHartford week and the 12 month campaign. You can join us at one of two sessions: Session 1 at 12:00 pm at Pizza Ranch on April 3rd or Session 2 at 7:00 am at Stomping Grounds on April 4th. Be sure to sign up for one of these sessions!
