Hartford Area Development Foundation Sign Improvement Program
Up-to-date, clean, and proper signage are important hallmarks in establishing a community as welcoming, inviting, and progressive. The Hartford Area Development Foundation has developed a signage grant program to assist Hartford businesses in updating or replacing signage at their place of business. This program aims to encourage local businesses to update their signage in an effort to represent Hartford as a clean and affluent community!
How it works
The Hartford Area Development Foundation will allocate grant monies twice a year (April and September) to grant recipients. First round grant applications will be due on April 1st with second round applications due on September 3rd. Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Hartford Area Development Foundation and first round applicants notified by April 15th of their decision and second round applicants notified by Sept 14th. Up to $5,000 will be allocated in total each round. The grant will cover up to $1,500 per eligible business per sign. Grant monies will be dispersed upon installation of new signage and submission of applicable receipts within the allotted time frame. Contact City Hall at 605-528-6187 for any questions relating to sign regulation and permits. An eligible business is one that is located within Hartford city limits.
